A contentious conservative, political landmark collapses dramatically on the 31st of May 2001. Ironically on the very day that South Africa used to commemorate the apartheid republic. Like many historical landmarks it represents a specific period and worldview that has witnessed its own downfall. The official reason given for the collapse is that of structural problems. But the remarkable coincidence, suggests that more mysterious powers were at play.
